Commercial Street Night Market 2026 – We’re Back!

While Commercial Street may be quiet right now, we’re already buzzing with excitement for what’s ahead.

The Commercial Street Night Market returns for its 7th season, bringing downtown Nanaimo to life every Thursday from June 18 to August 27, 2026. This summer, the street will once again transform into a vibrant gathering place filled with local flavours, live entertainment, artisan vendors, family-friendly fun, and exciting new experiences.

For 2026, we’re introducing new features, fresh programming, and enhanced vendor zones, making this our most dynamic season yet. From expanded cultural showcases and curated vendor experiences to returning favourites that our community loves, the Night Market continues to evolve while staying rooted in connection, creativity, and community spirit.

We are incredibly grateful to our vendors, volunteers, sponsors, performers, and partners who help make the Night Market possible year after year — and to the thousands of community members and visitors who join us each week. Your support is what turns Commercial Street into a summer tradition.

The Commercial Street Night Market takes place on the traditional, unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation. We are grateful for the opportunity to live, work, and host this event on their lands and honour their enduring presence in this region.

FAQ:

What happens if it rains? The Market runs rain or shine.

Can I bring my dog? Yes! As long as they are on leash.

Where do I park? Paid parking is available at underground parkades at Port Theatre and the Conference Centre. Free parking is available at the Bastion Street Parkade and on street level at locations surrounding the Market. 

Will there be toilets? Yes, we have portables onsite.

Will stores be open as well? Many merchants stay open for the entire market.

How do I find out the entertainment schedule for this week?  Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Is there a list of vendors? No. We have many vendors in for the season, but some that change weekly. Drop by the Chamber Tent to ask about specific vendors. Attend each Thursday to check out the variety.
